YQF Continues Laying Foundation for Future Growth Opportunities

Red Deer, AB | May 18, 2022 – On Wednesday May 18, Red Deer Regional Airport officials held their Annual Public Meeting at Holiday Inn & Suites Gasoline Alley, Red Deer and highlighted a positive 2021 year, expansion plans for the upcoming year and the continued community leadership.

Graham Ingham, Red Deer Regional Airport CEO states, “We are very happy with what transpired in 2021, despite lingering effects of Covid 19, we were able to maintain revenue and decrease our expenses. This allowed us to finish the year with a $85,000 surplus, which helped us start the year in a positive note. We completed our projects on time and on budget, with no incidents or accidents resulting from airport deficiencies throughout the year.“

“We continue to be heavily involved in the community through community leadership and strive to create brand awareness of our key pillars – safety, security and service,” adds Ingham. “The best way to grow your business is to help support the community, and that’s something we’re really focused on.”

In 2021, Red Deer Regional Airport supported 12 non-profit organizations and 10 local events for the community. In July 2023, Red Deer Regional Airport will be the host airport for the Canadian International Air Race Championship. An event that looks to create economic benefit for the region. More event information and how to get involved will be available this fall.

“We are excited and thankful for the support we have from Red Deer County, The City of Red Deer, and the Province of Alberta. We are now able to start the expansion of the runway, taxiway and apron and move forward with future expansion plans at the airport,” states Garett Cupples.. “We are setting the community up for investment opportunities, and economic growth, as well as sustainability for the airport.”

“As far as the future goes, we’ve got all the right things, we’ve got all the strategies in place, we’ve got the financial support, we’ve got the partnerships in place, so we’re pretty excited about the future of the airport and the growth within the region,” – Graham Ingham.

“As far as the future goes, we’ve got all the right things, we’ve got all the strategies in place, we’ve got the financial support, we’ve got the partnerships in place, so we’re pretty excited about the future of the airport and the growth within the region,” states Graham Ingham.

We are excited to continue to play a significant role in helping to drive future economic growth and prosperity for Central Alberta.
